IELTS Exam 2022: Dates, Results, Registration & Syllabus

IELTS Exam 2022 Registration

The first step towards your IELTS 2022 journey is your registration. For registration for the IELTS exam 2022, candidates must visit the registration link on the official British Council portal for IELTS. From the portal, candidates can apply for the type of test they want to attend, the date, the test location, and other details. Then, you can make the payment with your credit card or debit card, or a demand draft. 

The IELTS exam has no eligibility criteria and is open to candidates of all ages and backgrounds.

IELTS Exam 2022 Syllabus

As we already know, the IELTS exam consists of four sections. These four sections can evaluate the English language proficiency of the candidate. They are:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Listening

The IELTS 2022 test assesses the capability of the candidate in the above four sections. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours and 45 minutes. With IELTS training classes and preparation tips, candidates can quickly excel in the sections. The duration of the exam and the number of tasks are mentioned in the below table.

Types of IELTS Exam

There are two types of IELTS exams. They are IELTS Academic and IELTS General. The two exams are designed for candidates with different migration purposes. 

The IELTS Academic test is for candidates applying for higher education or professional registration abroad. This test assesses whether you are ready to begin studying or training.

The IELTS General Training test is for those who are going to English-speaking countries for secondary education or work. It is a requirement for migration to many countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. The test assesses skills in general contexts. 

However, universities and organizations may have different requirements, and you must ensure the IELTS score required. IELTS Indicator 2022

IELTS has recently initiated an IELTS Indicator to support candidates impacted by Covid-19 restrictions. IELTS Indicator will assess your English language skills in all four areas- Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking online. In addition, candidates can attend their IELTS test from their own homes. 

The IELTS Indicator test uses the same standards and formats as in other IELTS tests. The candidate will have a face-to-face session with an IELTS Examiner only for the speaking tests. Official IELTS Examiners will evaluate tests.

IELTS Mock Test 2022

There are mock tests available that will help for the IELTS 2022 exam. According to their exam mode, candidates can easily access free IELTS mock tests for both the IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training tests. The mock test contains all four modules for preparation- IELTS Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.

IELTS Results 2022

The IELTS 2022 results will be available approximately 13 days after the test date. The IELTS results can be accessed online via the candidate's IELTS registration account using the candidate's passport number and registration number.  IELTS scores are generally calculated on a 1-9 point scale. According to the score you receive, your proficiency in the English language will be assessed. With proper training, mock tests, and self-preparation, your IELTS exam can be made easier!
