By offering corporate training in Advanced Excel, NIA Limited, Dubai wanted to improve its employees efficiency in using Advanced Excel and convert them into in-store sales.
Because NIA Limited in Jabel Ali is a trading company, their employees required advanced excel skills. This meant employees had to upgrade their working knowledge as most of the company's work is done using office software especially Excel.
Upon completing the 4 hours Corporate Training Course in Advanced Excel, the employees developed advanced Excel Skills for Business which helped them in efficient handling of everyday operations.
For most trading companies in the world the ultimate goal of their business will be to maximize profits. But for NIA Limited in Dubai, it is about building a satisfying company.
In the Jabel Ali area of Dubai, NIA Limited, has their offices registered in JAFZA. It is a business enterprise dealing in consumer electronics and home appliances with specialisation in HVAC solutions. The company's operations are administered through a network of subsidiary companies in the United Arab Emirates and other parts of the Middle East. The company has a manpower of more than 300 employees and a network of 350 dedicated service providers. Although profit is necessary to run a business and make ends meet, NIA wanted to focus on satisficing profits rather than maximizing them. To build a long-lasting company, NIA Limited stressed on Employee skill development in using the office tools.
In an age of “big data” where advanced Excel skills are increasingly becoming important, NIA Limited found its employees missing these important skill sets. The company wanted to harness data-driven insights to improve performance, and wanted employees to have the ability to adeptly sort, filter, and analyze large datasets.
Edoxi's strategy to solve NIA Limited’s problem at first was to assess the candidate's level of knowledge in Excel. Inorder to measure the proficiency level, we conducted a Pre-assessment test. This helped us to identify their level of proficiency and to concentrate on areas to increase their potential.
The total number of employees registered to attend the sessions were 34. Based on the tested level of proficiency of each employee we divided the team into two batches. Each batch consisted of 17 members. The NIA Limited had opted to deliver the training sessions in their own pre-set class room where they arranged for a big LED Screen. Each candidate attended the class with their own laptops. We delivered the training sessions for 4 hours a day.
At the end of all sessions, we conducted a post assessment test to analyse how many of the employees got full confidence to work in Excel. Training sessions went really well and to our surprise, all the employees passed the post assessment test. Based on our assessment, we handed over the course completion certificate for each employee for learning the most advanced formulas, functions and types of financial analysis to be an Excel power user.
NIA Limited were really satisfied with their employees after we delivered the training on Advanced Excel. Their staff acquired the skills to manage large datasets efficiently, extract meaningful information from datasets, present data and extract information effectively.
In addition, learners have mastered the skills needed to validate data and prevent errors in spreadsheets, create automation, apply advanced formulas and conditional logic to help make decisions and create spreadsheets that help forecast and model data.
